Ore to cathode, in Kenya — built in stages, not overstated.

A modular beneficiation facility, with a path toward SX-EW cathode production, is being built at Kitui in stages.

The process route

Kitui’s ore is oxide/carbonate copper (malachite/azurite-type) with negligible sulfur — confirmed across multiple field and laboratory assays and corroborated by independent academic mapping of the same geological corridor. That profile favours a leach route over flotation or smelting: no smelter is required to reach LME Grade-A cathode.

Current stage

The facility is in development. Land is leased and being fenced; an ore crusher is already on site; an EPC vendor is engaged for the full plant, with no signed quote yet; ore purchasing from licensed artisanal-mining cooperatives is already underway; construction has not yet started. Every claim above is stated to match that stage — nothing further along than it is.

Engineering partner

JXSC has been engaged for plant design and installation. A formal, final sale-and-installation quote has not yet been returned, and no capital cost figure is locked in — this is a named, real engagement, stated with an explicit “not yet finalized” framing rather than implied completion.
